Frame Group is very excited to have played a key role in the successful reopening of land-based access to the extremely popular, and iconic, Cathedral Cove Beach on the Coromandel Peninsula. Access had been closed for almost two years following severe weather events destroying parts of the walkway. Frame Group attended the official opening on Sunday 1 December that was led by the Minister of Conservation, Tama Potaka. Working with the Department of Conservation @docgovtnz and Ngāti Hei, Frame Group designed and construction managed the approved temporary solution. The solution includes stairs, boardwalk (incorporating cultural design elements), boxed steps and track. Prior to this work, Frame Group worked with DOC and Ngāti Hei, together with Tonkin & Taylor in respect of geotechnical considerations, on a Feasibility Study to provide options in respect of both temporary and permanent land-based access solutions. The opening on Sunday achieves the publicly stated goal of the Minister to have access reopened for this summer season. When you visit take a photo and be sure to tag us! What a great two days the Frame Group team had at our Outdoor First Aid Training and Safety Management course. Always great to have a refresher and take home extra tips and tricks on how to take care of ourselves or others out in the field. The time has come - the official opening of the Kauri Glen Tree-Top Bridge, Boardwalk and Track as part of the kauri dieback mitigation upgrades. Frame Group is both excited and proud to have been a part of this amazing project, from concept design to detailed design to construction management. This project, like many others our team has had the privilege to work on, will have a long and lasting impact on both ourselves and the community - allowing all members of the community to experience kauri and other native bush at tree-top level. Wow, what a busy couple of months it has been here at Frame Group. We are excited to show you all the things we have been busy with. Check this one out: Brian and Jenna carried out the construction monitoring / inspections of precast concrete footings and slabs for the construction of a new causeway crossing between Rangitoto Island and Motutapu Island. Jenna was excited for the opportunity to provide the design drawing as she has fond memories of crossing the existing causeway and making the trek to the @Motutapu Outdoor Education Camp.

Our Managing Director, Jonathan Pringle, got out to site yesterday to view progress on a special project for a business client, which we wanted to share with you. We are always astounded how incredibly lucky we are to live in such a beautiful country, and to be able to assist with recreation access in such locations whilst protecting the environment and heritage areas.

More exciting progress on the Kauri Glen Kauri Dieback Track upgrade. We went to site yesterday to inspect the progress and excited to share it with you.

Frame Group has been working with @Department of Conservation and @Rileys to develop some of the next generation of structures along the Milford Road. To prepare for the future, environmentally sensitive structures are required that can cope with extreme weather and flooding together with climate change, potential earthquakes, and changing visitor trends. The team is utilising early geotechnical, hydrological, and structural studies so that the long-term future of these community assets can be properly understood.
