Project location

Production forest harvesting is extending into challenging terrain, and forest road construction is coming under tighter consent conditions and environmental controls. This gives rise to a need for better quality road design, and the ability to more accurately predict outcomes in terms of the effects to achieve the desired road standard. Frame Group has been active in the promotion of computer-aided road design (CAD) in the New Zealand forest industry, and has supplied and trained forest managers in the use of this technology.  Frame Group provides a design service and advice for forest managers to assist them in finding solutions to difficult forest road access situations. This support comes from a good understanding of road design parameters, skill in using CAD software, and an awareness of best practice in earthworks and drainage practice.
